North Korea’s Lil’ Kim

Poor misunderstood little guy. It’s hard out there for a despot

TO TRULY UNDERSTAND North Korea’s missile-test throwdown, go to NetFlix and queue up Team America: World Police, the geopolitical thriller-cum-puppet show by the creators of “South Park.” A cogent—and rather touching—exploration of Kim Jong Il’s motives can be found in the lavish musical interlude “I’m So Ronery,” sung by the marionette stand-in for the second-generation dictator. Poor misunderstood little guy. It’s hard out there for a despot. If that movie’s not available, try Dr. No.
