AT LEAST his name isn’t Jackie Hung. Chop-socky breakthrough star Jackie Chan, whose rubbery mug helped endear Westerners to the idea of a heavily accented Asian as a Hollywood leading man, exposed more than his face in a 1975 porn movie, he recently admitted.

Internet users in Hong Kong clued in the media to the fact that the wholesome action star had a sex scene in the Hong Kong skin flick All in the Family with a then-famous porn star. Chan was unapologetic, noting that all the great thespians have taken roles they’ve been less than proud of—Olivier, O’Toole, Brando, Chan.

“I had to do anything I could to make a living 31 years ago, but I don’t think it’s a big deal,” Chan told the Information Times. “Even Marlon Brando used to be exposed in his movies.” He added that porn movies of the 1970s were a lot less explicit than the ones of today.

It’s just the latest revelation to besmirch the reputation of the family-friendly foot-fighter. Earlier this month, he shed some light on his own origins when he recounted the bizarre story about how parents fell in love: His mother was an opium smuggler who was busted by his father, a customs cop; Daddy Chan let Mama Chan go because she had two children with her. Only later did Jackie Chan’s father reveal to the star that he wasn’t an only child but had two brothers and two sisters and that Chan isn’t his real surname—the actor’s real name is Fang Shilong.

Chan also admitted to a childhood of drug dealing, racing, thieving and fighting, but said he gave it up when two friends died because of underworld dealings.

Chan hasn’t given up all his vices, though. In July, a drunken master Chan tickled YouTube users’ fancies when he climbed onstage during a Hong Kong concert by Taiwanese singer Jonathan Lee and demanded a duet, then insulted the audience for heckling his bad performance.

Still, Chan’s admission didn’t really surprise us—just take a look at his body of work. •
