Nora Jones, Movie Star
Meet Wong Kar-Wai’s new muse, demi-desi Norah Jones Posted: June 28, 2006 MISS NORAH JONES is just full of surprises. In a few short years, Ravi Shankar’s little girl has gone from jazzy songbird to country crooner (with The Little Willies and The Sloppy Joannes) all the way to pink-haired punk rocker. Her latest incarnation? Indie ingenue. Jones is starring in Wong Kar-Wai’s first English-language picture, a dark comedy called My Blueberry Nights, which began shooting in New York City this week. In her cinematic debut, Norah Jones plays a young woman on a cross-country quest to find “the meaning of love,” with the help of co-stars Jude Law, Rachel Weisz, Ed Harris and Natalie Portman. Damn, where can we get some of Nojo’s mojo? • |
